7th/8th Graders continued working on drawing from observation last week. They were drawing a autumn themed still life. A still life is an arrangement of inanimate objects. Building on their contour drawing technique, students used value to give their objects they were drawing form and volume. The students did outstanding! I am very impressed how much their drawing skills have improved in such a short amount of time. There was no reflection for this project this week due to our shorten MEAP schedule. 6th Graders began the 3D portion of this class They used pinch and slipping and scoring techniques to create their clay owls. Ask your student what these terms mean. Students also used the ancient technique of coil building to create pots inspired by Southwest Native American pottery. This week they will begin weaving.
