Last week 7th/8th graders learned about printmaking. They created lithographic prints of their zentangles. I was a little nervous because I have never taught printmaking before, but some careful planning seemed to contribute to the students success with this lesson. This project is due Tuesday. Check out the pictures below... 7th/8th graders started their Big Drawing Unit this week. Through this unit students will learn to draw from observation and strengthen their hand eye coordinated in an effort to draw what they see realistically. Each project will build of the previous one and will be a little more challenging than the one before. This week they started their contour drawing of their shoes. Next week they will draw a still life, Students will finish up the quarter with a self portrait. 6th Graders learned how to draw a room in perspective last week. They learned terms such as vanishing point, horizon line, and vertical line. Ask your student what these terms mean. This project is due Monday 10/8. This week students learned about the art of Edvard Munch, specifically his painting The Scream. Students used oil pastels, paint, and a photograph of themselves screaming to recreate this work of art. They also watched a video of the aunction of this painting from earlier this spring.
