6th Grade ArtLast week 6th grade students worked independently using the one point perspective technique to create their room drawings. Students perspective room drawings are due today. Check Powerschool at the end of the day Monday to make sure your student turned in his/her work. 6th grade began the 3D portion of our class this week. They worked with clay and made clay owls and coil pots. They did a great job using clay safely and responsibly and their work project turned out great! Their work is firing in the kiln now and students will glaze their pottery next week. Students will have a clay quiz Friday next week. They practiced drawing with the right side of their brain by drawing upside down. They began learning the basics of contour drawing and how to draw from observation. Students also worked on their Contour Object Drawing. This project was due Thursday and grades are entered in PowerSchool.
Students created a mini still life drawing made of pasta. They learned how to include value in their drawings by adding shadows, highlights and midtones. Click HERE to learn more about this project. The last day to work on this project will be Tuesday 10/20. The final due date will be Tuesday 10/20. I am so impressed with students' dedication to improve as artists! Every students has improved their drawing skills in just 3 short weeks! Comments are closed.
