7th/8th GradeIt was a short week but a product one for 3D Art students! They have created armatures in the shape of action figures inspired by Keith Haring's subway drawings. This week they began the paper mache process. Students were very focused and used the paper mache safely and responsibly. They will continue working on this project next week. Click HERE for more information about this project. 6th Grade ArtLast week the 6th grade art students began learning about the Elements of Art- line, shape, color, texture, value, and space. They read a Scholastic Art magazine article and then practiced identifying the elements in famous works of art.
This week students have been learning specifically about the elements of line and shape. They learned how to use shape to create a mirror image in a work of art. This is a new project and will update the website soon with images and resources. Below are images of in progress artwork. Next week they will use oil pastels to color their mirror images. Be sure to ask your students is they can name all 6 Elements of Art! 7th/8th Grade Art

6th grade students were very creative making their Illustrated Name Tags this week! The last day to work on this project in class will be Wednesday 11/23. This project will be officially due Wednesday 11/30. More info about this project can be found HERE.
