6th GradeThis week 6th grade has been glazing. They did a great job at using glaze safely and responsibly. Now that their clay owls and bowls have been glazed, I will fire them again in the kiln on Monday. After that I will grade them. My goal is to have all clay work graded and returned by next Friday.
Midmarking grades are due in Powerschool early next week. Be sure to check your student's grade in art. They have only have one project in the grade book because they have been working on clay projects which take weeks to complete. 6th grade6th grade art classes have been working with clay! They first learned the pinch technique to create clay owls. Then they used the coil building technique to create clay coil pots. Click HERE to learn more about these projects.
They will learn about the pueblo tradition of pottery and design patterns inspired by Southwest Native American traditional pottery patterns later this week . 6th grade students created Illustrated Name Tags the 1st week of the qaurter. These will be hanging in the hallway at MSE. Grades will be posted on Powerschool by 2/16 for this project. |
