7th/8th gradeThis week students had a ton fun using the relief printmaking technique . Students designed radial patterns using different types of lines. They printed their patterns to make duplicates of their art, which were then put together to make one radial work of art! This project is officially due next Friday 10/6. This week we focused on the element of color. They used the primary, secondary, warm and cool colors in their Mirror Image Project. Students used oil pastels to create their work. They turned out fantastic! I was very impressed with their creativity and attention to detail. This project is officially due on Wednesday 9/27. Students also learned about how to create balance in their artwork. We talked about formal balance and informal balance and radial balance last Friday and looked at Wes Anderson film stills. Thursday was the last day to work on their Illustrated Name Tag project. This project is due no later than Thursday 9/28. For more info about this project click HERE. Students will read a Scholastic Art magazine article on Friday. 7th 8th grade 2DI have been extremely impressed with 7th/8th graders creativity and ideas for their Identity Illustration project. Not only is their artwork outstanding but they have been doing a great job Being Awesome! The last day to work on this project in class will be Wednesday 9/20. The project is officially due 9/27. 6th GradeThis year we are operating under the motto, "BE AWESOME!" Students discussed in their groups what that might look like in the art room. Below is a picture of what they came up with.
