Students are required to bring their Chromebook to class everyday so they may access Schoology. Students are allowed to bring their phone to class. However, they are not to be used for texting, social media, taking photos, checking emails, recording video, etc. Students are never to photograph or record Mrs. Winters or another student and/or post it to the internet without permission. Students will also not be allowed to bring their phone to art ever again.
Class Rules
This year we will be learning under the class motto of “BE AWESOME!” If students are being awesome in art class they are also following our school SOAR rules:
East SOAR Rules:
1. Be Respectful
2. Be Responsible
3. Be in Control
4. Be Safe
5. Stay On Task
Consequences for not “Being Awesome”:
Students have the right to learn and the teachers have the right to teach in a safe and orderly environment. In an effort to help create this environment I support our school Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) policy, which encourages students to reflect on their disruptive behavior.
Students will be given a verbal warning regarding their disruptive behavior.
1st Offense: Students will fill out a restorative reflection form . The student will discuss what happened and their plan for improving behavior with the teacher. A parent/guardian will be notified via email and will receive a copy of the student’s completed form. I encourage parents/guardians to discuss the plan with their students.
2nd Offense: The student will be sent to office.
3rd Offense: The student will receive an office referral. A meeting with the student, teacher, parent/guardian, and/or administrator will be held. The goal of this meeting will be discuss the student’s behavior and develop a plan to help the
