What does it look like to SOAR in the computer lab...
Being RESPECTFUL:
Being RESPONSIBLE:
Being SAFE:
Being in CONTROL:
- Listening while the teacher and classmates are talking to the class
- Raising your hand when you have a question
- Using appropriate language.
- Making sure your computer area is clean before you leave and all equipment is in good condition
- Not chewing gum, eating, or drinking in the computer lab
Being RESPONSIBLE:
- Get to class on time with the materials needed (agenda, pencil, library book, homework just in case the computers are down with problems or you have finished your assignment).
- When arriving check all equipment (mouse, keyboard, cords, etc.) are present and free from damage. If there is any problem let the teacher know immediately.
- Using class time class effectively.
- Not playing games when you are supposed to be working.
Being SAFE:
- Staying in your seat so that you do not trip on cords or other equipment.
- Sitting correctly in your chair and not rolling around in your chair outside your area.
- Keeping your hands, feet, and negative comments to yourself
- Safe practices online. For example - not giving out personal information online
- Following the districts Responsible Use Policy that requires you to use the Tech/Computer lab, its equipment, and appropriate internet sites with respect and strict code of conduct designed for your own safety. As a result, violations are dealt with at a very serious level by our administration. Using the computers is a privilege not a right. If you cannot use the computers responsibly you will lose that privilege.
Being in CONTROL:
- Staying on task
- Not allowing others to affect your behavior
- Avoiding outbursts or horse play
Consequences for not following Lab Rules...
Consequences will vary based on the offense. In other words, more serious offenses can result in a more serious consequence.
- Students will get one warning before they loose their daily participation points.
- If a students are consistently disruptive they will fill out Behavior Improvement Form and Mrs. Winters will call home.
- If student continues to be disruptive they will be sent to the office.
