7th/8th grade7th and 8th Grade Art students finished working on their Illuminated Letter project last week. Students used medieval Illuminated Manuscripts as their inspiration for this project. They were very creative with how they used their art to tell something about themselves. This project is officially due Thursday 4/26. Directions and project reflection can be found HERE. On Friday students began learning about the Op Art movement of the 1960's. Today they began creating their own optical illusions. More info about this project can be found HERE. 6th Grade6th grade students were very creative making their Illustrated Name Tags last week. This project is due 4/26. Most students have already turned in their work. More info about this project can be found HERE
At the end of last week the 6th grade art students began learning about the Elements of Art- line, shape, color, texture, value, and space. They read a Scholastic Art magazine article and then practiced identifying the elements in famous works of art. This week students have been learning specifically about the elements of line and shape. They learned how to use shape to create a mirror image in a work of art. Next week they will use oil pastels to color their mirror images. Click HERE to learn more about this project. Comments are closed.
